Black and White Composition

I interpreted what I thought would be a visually appealing black and white layout by using all of the shades in between the two colors. The gradient from white to black at the top of the page works as a sort of palette and anchor for the rest of the page. It is easy to see where the text would placed on the layout. The crystal shapes direct you, so to speak, to where the actual text would be. Not only do they lead the eye to the text but they also add a 3d element to the page. The way the crystals seam to poke through the black bar at the top of the page makes the crystal looks like it is popping off of the page.

  1. I love the layering of this composition. It really contrasts the blacks, whites and grays. The effect of the lines piling down draws the eye down, but there is also obvious movement upward with the diamond shapes going diagonally up the page which creates a very balanced look. Well done!
